FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Please read through our most commonly asked questions about our school picture day process.
WHAT ARE YOUR BUSINESS HOURS?
My regular working hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM.
During busy seasons (proms, festivals, and sports), I’m often photographing at all hours, then editing and uploading in between. Because of that, there are days when I might not get to emails until the next day — or I may take a short “reboot day” to rest my eyes and reset before diving back in.
All messages and orders are handled personally by me — nothing is automated — so your patience means the world. I promise I’ll respond as soon as I’m back at my desk (and have coffee in hand ☕).
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY DIGITAL ORDER?
Order links are sent via text through the CaptureLife App, and a copy is also emailed to you with your print release attached, once your portrait has been processed.
Digital files are not instant downloads. Since some orders include retouching, each image is personally uploaded to CaptureLife during business hours. (Occasionally, I’ll use weekends to catch up and send files then.) Thank you for your patience — it’s just me making sure every photo looks its best!
NOTE: When ordering a digital file, please include your email and phone number on the order.
CAN I GET A PHOTO OF MY CHILDREN TOGETHER?
Our school picture days are set up for individual students only.
WHAT IF MY CHILD MISSED PICTURE DAY?
FALL: There is a make-up day. If you miss that day, unfortunately, your student will not be photographed.
SPRING: There are NO retake days.
SPRING NOTE: If you missed the fall photo days and/or your student transferred in after fall photos, your spring photo will be used for the yearbook.
AJCHS: No spring photos.
WHAT IF MY CHILD NEEDS A RETAKE?
Return your complete package to the photographer on make-up day. Your student will receive new portraits in exchange for your returned package.
NOTE: If the only concern is something like “Johnny needed a haircut” or “Susie wanted a different shirt,” we’ll gladly do a retake — but because the original photo turned out fine, we ask for half the package price to cover the reprint — and you keep the original package. Please send a note with your child and include ½ of the original package price.
DO YOU OFFER RETOUCHING?
BASIC: Removes basic blemishes.
EXTENSIVE: Removes blemishes & scars, evens skin tone, whitens teeth, and fixes stray hairs.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
There are no fees for your child to be photographed and no obligation to order.
There is also no cost to your school for us to photograph students, staff, and classes, so we greatly appreciate any orders placed with us!
FALL: Pre-pay (envelope or online) offers a discounted price by purchasing early. If you wait for proofs, you can order online at a higher rate; shipping will apply as it ships directly to you.
SPRING: No pre-pay option. Proof envelopes will be delivered to your school for ordering. After the deadline, all orders must be placed online.
